NUTRITION MONTH
Every month of July, we always celebrate
the month of healthiness, the Nutrition Month. Our theme this year was “Kalamidad
Paghandaan: Gutom at Malnutrisyon Agapan” in connection to what happened to our
fellow Filipino in Visayas region especially in Tacloban during the typhoon
Yolanda. We celebrated our Nutrition Month last July 1, 2014, Tuesday at Basay
National High School ground at exactly 7:30 in the morning till 5:00 at the
afternoon. Before we start the program we have first the parade which leaded by
the Basay National High School Band.During our celebration we have inumerable
activities held in our school, one of it is the Jingle Competition. This was
participated by the first section of the different year level. Each one of the
contestant did their best to win in the contest. While performing, the viewers
was astonished by the presentation of
each contestant because they use different forms of colorful props to catch up
the attention of the judges as well as the viewers. Just like to the 4th year
student who uses a masscara instead of a headress with a different kinds of
colorful fruits and vegetables. After
the presentation, the tabulator of judges declared the winner. The champion was
the fourth year student coming from the section Einstein , second was the Grade
8 student of section Earth , third was the Grade7- Gold , and lastly the Grade
9 student of section Diamond.

Marching Band Presentation
Everytime we have an event or a celebration in our school, Basay National High School Band is always requested to have their function and even have their showdown presentation as an entertainment.
Last year 2015, our marching band participated in the Marching Band Competition during the Buglasan Festival at Dumaguete City. During our Municipal Fiesta, the fiesta coordinator , requested Mrs. Lety M. Baquitro our band moderator that our marching band would be the one to lead during the parade. It was on last March 17, 2015. After the parade,Basay National High School band performed their showdown presentation and while they are performing all Basayanon was astounded by their performance and some said that it was so fantastic.
Last few months we held diverse activities in our school and the marching band of Basay National High School actively participated in this various activities especially during the parade. The activities that we have are as follows: the Culmination of the Month of Nutrition in which hit was been participated by distinct places coming from Basay District. Cultural Presentation
Applause is a receipt, not a note of demand.
Whenever there is a program we cannot forbid that there is no entertainment, because if we do the viewers will easily get bored in the program. So,the MAPEH coordinator of our school Mrs. Lety M. Baquitro make a decision to have a Dance Troop in our school. It is open to all bonafide students of Basay Nat’l High School. This students will be the one to perform and have their intermission whenever we have a celebration in our school.
In our culmination in the Nutrition Month on last July 29, 2015 we have our folk dance presentation in Basay Gymnasium. They performed the Sayaw sa Bangko which has been presented by the fourth year students and the Subli Dance by the grade 8 students. John Ralph Omison, Charissa Ib-ib, Primo Engcoy, Kharmiel Manimog, Paul Vincent Valerio, Charmaine Macahipay, Edgardo Atillo, Jillie Ann Villarmia,Marcos Bandoy, and Ranelyn Amar were the studentswho performed the Sayaw sa Bangko and their trainor was their MAPEH IV teacher Mrs. Lety M. Baquitro. During thier performance the audience was amazed because of their colorful costumes and at the same time got nervous of their presentation epecially when the performers were on top of the bench and dancing together with their partner. They thought that what if they lose their balance and fall what would happened, but fortunately it did’nt occur. And the Grade 8 students who performed the subli Dance were Charlotte Cabasag, Apple Kate Jungco, Alynna Moya, Reneth Earl Cadorna, Shiela Mae Millares, Bryan Gaga-a, Joseph Caayupan, Gad Raging, James Ryan Gallano, and Rene Cervantes.Their trainor was Ms. Vilma Valencia the E.P. IV teacher. While they are performing they look so very endearing because of their flamboyant costumes.
